THE IDEC SPORT WEB SERIES IN THE FINAL OF THE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

During Francis Joyon’s crew’s last attempt to beat the Jules Verne Trophy record, a very special web series was created. “Once around: 45 days” has now made it to the final of the International Online Webfest. A great recognition.

Fans of sailing and all those, who followed IDEC Sport’s last attempt to grab the Jules Verne Trophy – the crewed round the world sailing record – will remember the highly original web series, ”Once around: 45 days”. The 25 episodes widened the scope of this global adventure, calling upon some unusual reactions from personalities from the world of sport, but also civil society and science.

Among those who took part in this quirky Web Series, which was a first for ocean racing, there were some of the leading figures from the world of sailing, like Loïck Peyron, but also artists, researchers, museum curators, semiologists, personalities from civil society and human sciences…

Popular with Internet users

This web series was remarkably successful on the Net and social media, with excellent viewing figures, “likes” and “shares”. This success is now international. “Once around: 45 days”, voted for by web users, has now reached the final of the international festival, the International Online Webfest, along with three other films. “It’s a fantastic recognition of our work and we’re very pleased,” declared Jérémie Eloi, the director, who came up with this web series in collaboration with Mer & Media, the communications agency for IDEC Sport.

The web series “Once around: 45 days” can still be viewed on the official website: https://www.idecsport-sailing.com/?lang=en
