Valérie GARNIER, the French team trainer, has decided to reduce the size of the group and has let Ingrid TANQUERAY before the preparation for the 2019 Euro championship.
Rewarded after her great season with the Lyon women’s team, Ingrid TANQUERAY was selected to take part in the preparation for the next European championship, which is due to take place in Riga (Latvia) and in Belgrade (Serbia) from 27th June to 7th July. She hadn’t worn the French colours since February 2016.
After a first match on the court on Saturday (5 points and 5 decisive passes), Ingrid did not take part in the second duel against Ukraine on Monday evening. After this victory for the French team (89 – 65) in Mont-de-Marsan, Valérie GARNIER decided to reduce the size of the group going from 16 to 14 players. The French selectors decided to do without Magaly MENDY and Ingrid TANQUERAY for the rest of the preparation.
As for Marième BADIANE (11 points and 8 rebounds and then 10 points and 5 rebounds), she is continuing the adventure with the Blues and heading for Rennes, where the French team will contest their next tournament against Turkey, Russia and Serbia.
