IDEC SPORT, a passion for sport

IDEC SPORT is a separate entity, the sports branch of the IDEC Group, which brings together all partnerships under one banner. While Patrice Lafargue has a real passion for motorsport, his competitive spirit has led him to invest in several sports, whether in football alongside Vineuil Football Club, in Rugby in Top 14 with USON de Nevers or in Basketball with Union Poitiers Basket 86.

The IDEC SPORT entity also has its own LMP2 and LMP3 sports team. The IDEC SPORT team participated for the 7th time in the 24 Hours of Le Mans during the centenary in 2023. The team also participates in the European Le Mans Series championship in LMP2 with Paul Lafargue, Paul-Loup Chatain and Laurents Hörr at the wheel. The team also takes part in the Michelin Le Mans Cup in LMP3, with its two LMP3 drivers, Dino Lunardi and the president of the IDEC GROUP Patrice Lafargue.

IDEC SPORT is particularly marked by the partnership with Francis Joyon which has lasted more than twenty years, with many successes such as the maxi-trimaran IDEC SPORT holder of the Jules Verne Trophy (round the world with a crew completed in 2017 in 40 days, 23 hours and 30 minutes). Or the record of Francis Joyon on the Route du Rhum 2018 solo in 7 days 14 hours and 21 minutes.

IDEC SPORT is sponsoring this year and will support in 2025 the Famous Project led by Alexia Barrier, an all-female crew conquering the Jules Verne Trophy. Alexia, an ocean racing expert since her teenage years, had the opportunity to complete the Route de l’Equateur in 2007 and the Route du Rhum in 2018. She completed her first Vendée Globe solo in 2020. Alexia and her teammates hold 12 round-the-world races, 28 world records, and 16 championship titles. The 7 best female sailors from around the world were therefore chosen for this challenge.

IDEC SPORT is proud to be represented in 2023-2024 by multi-sport athlete Emma Clair Dumont. Emma climbed Everest in 2022, ran 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days, and crossed Africa on a quad bike. In addition, IDEC SPORT has been supporting disabled athlete Raphaël Beaugillet in cycling since 2020. Finally, rugby player Axelle Berthoumieu, who plays alongside the Blagnac squad and in the French team, will be sponsored by IDEC SPORT for this new season.
