IDEC SPORT goes strong: Two LMP2 cars at the start of the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans!

For the ninth consecutive year, the IDEC SPORT team will participate in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) has unveiled the list of entrants for the 2025 edition, and IDEC SPORT is present with two official invitations.

The Oreca 07 #18 and #28 will carry the same numbers as in the European Le Mans Series.

On the drivers side, the #18 car will feature Jamie Chadwick and Mathys Jaubert, while Paul Lafargue will take part in his ninth edition in the #28. The full line-ups will be announced soon.

First reactions:

“I feel like a child living his dream. Racing at Le Mans is always an extraordinary experience, a unique moment full of emotions and challenges. This year, I’ll also have the joy of sharing this world with my son, which adds an immense pride. It’s a beautiful reward after so many years of passion and commitment,” says Paul Lafargue. “I thank the ACO for this opportunity, which also recognizes the work done by the entire IDEC SPORT team over the past ten years. Ten years of effort, progress, and self-improvement, during which we have grown together to achieve ever greater excellence. »

« This will be my ninth participation in this legendary race, and the excitement remains unchanged. For this 93rd edition, we want to build on the experience we’ve gained and continue where we left off last year. We know that the competition is fierce and that every detail counts, but we are ready to take on the challenge. Our goal is clear: to climb one or two more steps on the podium. The whole team is working tirelessly towards this, with the determination to exceed our limits.

This edition will also have a special flavor with the challenge taken on by the #18 car’s crew for Genesis Magma Racing, who are preparing for their LMDH entry in 2026 with the support of IDEC SPORT. It’s a new adventure, an ambitious project that symbolizes our desire to explore new horizons and push the boundaries. And what better way to aim higher than to celebrate IDEC SPORT’s 10th anniversary? This milestone marks a decade of passion, challenges overcome, and dreams fulfilled. It’s up to us to keep writing our story with ambition and determination. »

The IDEC SPORT Team Principal, Nicolas Minassian, immediately reacted to this announcement: “I’m over the moon! It’s fantastic. Having one entry is already great, but now with two, I’m thinking of Paul, who will be celebrating nine consecutive years at Le Mans, as well as the team. A second entry gives us even more strength – the #18 and #28, one with our partner Genesis Magma Racing and one with Paul, two IDEC SPORT cars, fantastic! A big thank you to the ACO for granting us this honor. We will, of course, give our absolute best to repay the trust they’ve placed in us. »

Patrice Lafargue, President of IDEC SPORT, said: “Two IDEC SPORT cars for an edition that is already shaping up to be legendary – it’s incredible. I thank the ACO for their trust and for recognizing the work the team has been doing for 10 years now. I know that the drivers and the team will give everything, just as they always do. We’ve had some great stories at Le Mans, and I already know that we’ll make sure this 93rd edition will be unforgettable. »

In addition to the two Oreca 07 IDEC SPORT cars, 15 other LMP2s will join the field, which will also include 21 Hypercars and 24 GT3s, making a total of 62 cars.

For its 10th anniversary, IDEC SPORT returns to Sarthe with the firm intention of adding a new achievement to its record, which already includes an European Championship title in 2019, a podium finish at Le Mans in 2024 (3rd place), and two pole positions in LMP2 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2018 and 2023).

See you from June 11 to 15 at Le Mans!
