It was in the middle of the night that the IDEC SPORT maxi-trimaran passed the course mark off Nice, 30 minutes after SODEBO, who managed to take advantage of stronger winds to retake the lead. Since then, the two Ultimes have been sailing around for the second time, but with a course shortened to 120 miles off Nice with two virtual waypoints to round. In the 0915hrs rankings, IDEC SPORT was 8.5 miles behind. The finish off Rauba Capeù is due to take place at around 1400hrs.
