The BLMA did what was required in the Palais des Sports with two wins in a row equalising with LFB in these finals. The latest in the series was the most hotly contested with 45 minutes of excitement.
While the BLMA took a twelve point lead in the second quarter (31-19), Lyon had learnt the lessons from the third match. More aggressive, they caught up several times, responding to the long distance shots from Ana DABOVIC and co. Going ahead of the team from Hérault in the money time thanks to the determination of Marième BADIANE and Paoline SALAGNAC, Lyon could not stop the Serb equalising in the last few seconds to get extra time. Exhausted, Valery DEMORY’s players did not have the strength to resist in the final extra five minutes and lost 91 – 85.
So the final decisive match will take place in Lyon, with Lyon counting on the support of their fans to pull off a surprise and finish the 2018-2019 season in the best way possible.
