IDEC Sport was solidly in 20th place overall when an alternator problem meant the car lost 10 minutes or so in the stands. Patrice Lafargue is now driving for the second handover in 33rd place.
Everything was going smoothly for the JS P217 IDEC SPORT after eight hours of racing when the alternator belt problem brought car #17 to a halt in what should have been tHE handover between Paul and Patrice Lafargue.
The mechanics reacted quickly and only took 10 minutes to change the belt. But ten minutes seems like an eternity in this sort of race. Paul Lafargue entered the stands in 19th place and Patrice Lafargue found himself back with the pack in 33rd place.
