ELMS: IDEC SPORT FEELING CONFIDENT BEFORE THE MONZA 4-HOUR RACE

IDEC Sport may be facing one of its best weekends of the season at the Monza 4-Hour Race as Olivier Pla will be alongside Patrice and Paul Lafargue. The latter will make the most of the experience gained at Silverstone and during the pre-season tests.

This weekend, IDEC Sport will be taking the Ligier JS P217 #28 to Italy to race at Monza for the second meeting of the 2017 European Le Mans Series. The team is clearly aiming very high after warming up in Silverstone just under a month ago.

Will Olivier Pla make all the difference, as he did at the ELMS prologue? It’s highly likely. After achieving the best time at the pre-season trials with a time of 1:36.461, the driver from Toulouse will be a key element for IDEC Sport.

The three members of IDEC Sport will be facing 35 other cars, including 12 LMP2. Patrice Lafargue, Paul Lafargue and Olivier Pla will have to show all their talent to conquer their rivals and deal with all the cars on the track over the 5.793km of the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza for four hours.

With the trials beginning on Friday 12th May, the real event will get underway on the following day, as qualifications will be held between 1.55 and 2.05 p.m. on Saturday. Paul Lafargue achieved a fantastic result at the 4-Hour qualifier at Silverstone, but this time it will be Olivier Pla at the wheel in Italy for this part to ensure the Ligier JS P217 #28 gets in pole position.

The race itself will begin at 1.30 on Sunday 14th May and everyone is looking forward to it as the ELMS has not been back on the legendary F1 circuit since 2008.
